About Benjamin
I am a 3rd year student at the University of Edinburgh, studying English literature and linguistics. Last year I completed a Level 5 TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification, equipping me with the skills and knowledge to deliver professional and well-planned lessons to English language learners. Having studied Advanced English for my European Baccalaureate, I can also teach and advise students up to SQA Higher level on literary analysis and essay writing. I am approachable and easy-going, and never happier than when helping others refine their work to achieve the best possible result.

About the lesson

In the first lesson, I will get to know the student, their language level and their needs. I can then deliver a tailored blend of the communicative approach (conversation and discussion) and task-based language learning (activities and/or homework). For literature and essay writing, I go off the specific needs of the student; familiarising myself with the texts they would like to cover in advance in order to dedicate as much time as possible to discussing their work in the lesson.
