About Ashlyn
I am a senior at the University of Iowa, where my focus is on creative writing. I spent a year and a half tutoring at a local community college, primarily focusing on proofreading and formatting. In addition to general English composition courses, I have experience with more specialized courses covering screenwriting, playwriting, poetry, creative writing, fiction writing, novel writing, sentence structure, and revision.

Writing is not an easy task for everyone, but I don't think that means it needs to be painful. I understand that every student is different and I believe that it is the role of an educator to work with those differences to help them learn, not just memorize. My approach to writing is to find a balance between what is required (formatting, structure, etc.) and who the writer is as an individual.

Details
Lessons are set at fifteen dollars per hour in order to compensate for the time of each lesson and to allow for a wider availability. All lessons are to be conducted online only. Cancellations must be made forty-eight hours in advance, but please reach out if there is a true emergency and we can work something out.
