About Kimberley
I have been teaching at an inner city college for 6 years and thrive on seeing my students grow. I have tutored several students every year and they have all moved up 2 grades since I have tutored them. Generally, the students I have tutored have started at a grade 2 or were continuously achieving a grade 3 in mock exams. With my tuition they all move up 2 grades and have achieved grade 5s and 6s in their final GCSE English exams.
English is my specialism and my passion. I have experience in teaching GCSE English Language, Functional Skills English and ESOL.
Prior to teaching English, I worked as a Youth Support Worker in a youth theatre, where I supported young people in participating in arts activities, such as: drama, music, art and dance. I am passionate about working with young people and am able to quickly build a rapport and establish a strong working relationship.

I specialise in working with learners who struggle to achieve higher than grade 2s and 3s. I have the ability to boost confidence and enable learners to see their successes in English. Generally, my learners start off disliking English and feeling as if they will never pass their exam. After several sessions, I see their confidence soar and start to believe in their abilities. Sometimes, all it takes is for something to be explained in a new way and to have a student centred approach to lessons. All of my lessons are tailored to the individual. The first lesson will enable me to establish the ability of the student and Ii can then adapt the lessons, using suitable material that will assist the student in their progress. I like to use a combination of paper and online resources to provide variety to sessions. Online resources could include videos, songs and quizzes.
