About Joud
I'm a second-year student at the University of Toronto Mississauga, double-majoring in Psychology and Biology with a minor in Education Studies. I've been tutoring for five years across Math, Science, and English (Grades 1–12), and what drives me is genuinely caring about whether my students actually get it, not just get through it.
I know what it's like to find learning hard. Academic challenges are part of my story too, and working through them is what made me the student I am today. That experience shapes how I tutor: I meet students where they are, encourage curiosity, and make space for mistakes because that's where real learning happens.
Beyond the content itself, I love helping students build the skills that make everything easier: organization, focus, motivation, and figuring out what actually works for you. I think being a good student is something you can learn, and I want to help you do that.
Outside of school, I love being outdoors, reading, spending time with family and friends, and giving back through volunteer work.

Elementary (Grades 1–8): My elementary lessons are interactive and application-focused. Think educational games, Jamboards, and hands-on activities that keep students engaged and actually enjoying the process. We follow the units and homework they're working on in class, and if a student is ready for more, we can go further. Sessions are consistent but flexible, and I'm happy to accommodate last-minute study sessions before big tests or assignments.
Grades 9–10: I can teach Academic, Applied, or AP streams in English, Math, and Science. Lessons usually start by going over homework questions, tackling any assignments, and catching up on anything outstanding. From there, we work through lesson plans I build around what's being covered in class. I'll walk through concepts with you first, then let you try questions independently to build real confidence and higher-level thinking. I can also assign practice homework if that's helpful.
Every student is different, so I always use the first session as a gauge, getting a feel for where you're at and how you learn best. From there, I tailor my approach to what actually works for you, including tips on note-taking and study habits based on your learning style.
Grade 11: I can help with Biology, English, and Functions, using the same personalized approach as Grades 9–10.
What makes me different: I'm understanding, relatable, and I have a knack for finding the right analogy to make something click. I've worked with students across a wide range of learning abilities, and I genuinely enjoy finding the angle that works for each person. Growing up with two younger sisters, I'm really close to them, which also means I naturally know how to connect with kids and make learning feel less like a chore and more like something worth showing up for.

I’ve been having weekly Grade 9 science tutoring sessions with Joud, and she has really helped me. She explains things simply, which makes sense to me, especially when I’m confused. She is also very patient and doesn’t mind going over things multiple times. Thanks to her, I understand the material better and feel more confident in class. She makes the lessons feel relaxed and not stressful, which I appreciate. I would definitely recommend her if you need help with science. She is very helpful and truly cares about her students’ success.
