About Chloe
I’m someone that’s always loved English; if you spoke to anyone close to me you’d probably hear how I read too many books and waffle on about poetry that’s improved my day. I love to find what's been lost between the lines when reading, whether that be fiction pieces I’ve found myself and can’t get enough of, or more academic pieces that, despite what your education may have led you to believe, aren’t just ramblings of dead men with undiagnosed mental illnesses. I’ve tutored several people through the years, lots of which were in my own classes, most of which found a little bit more joy in their subjects and all of which left with higher grades than they thought they would. I’m a very energetic person and have often been described as 60% human and 40% caffeine (although the ratio does vary but my speciality is words not estimations so I can’t tell you by how much). I love what I do and I have almost certainly complained about Shakespeare more times in my life than you ever will so you’ll never get out of reading it by trying to win an argument with me (you are welcome to try however, as long as you’ve finished it).

I don’t think that tutoring should be a compilation of rigid planned discussions nor should it be about diminishing a student’s creativity. I’ll happily say right now that if you expect an authoritarian to teach you (or someone close to you) then I won’t be the right person for you but if you want them to find the fun in education and ultimately attempt to foster a passion for something that can otherwise be incredibly dull for someone struggling, then I think I may actually be able to help. Reading should never be a chore but if it is for you, then I think you should give me a shot to change your mind and improve your grades all at the same time. There’s a reason that I study the subject at a higher level and, even though I wouldn’t be able to without my results, it’s not because my grades said it was my only option. There’s hope for everyone to find love in literature.

Chloe tutored me during high school and because of her my skills in English improved significantly. She helped me understand things the teachers couldn’t and explained everything in a way I could understand. I truly believe it wasn’t for her help I wouldn’t have passed English.
Chloe helped me get through my english GCSE by helping me annotate my past mock exams and going through different ways to interpret the language and tones used in poetry, books and Shakespeare. She helped me develop the skills to only annotate what was needed in a passage and identify key quotations and scenes in my work. She is a brilliant tutor and really helped me build confidence in my english work.
