I am a third year English Literature student, and I am about to complete my degree at the University of Exeter. I have experience in teaching younger students, having had work experience in a local secondary school at home, as well as volunteering as a leader for a Brownie pack .

I am open to tutoring pupils of any age, but I would probably be able to assist secondary school pupils the most. I would begin with assessing what the pupils would like to work upon, and the goals they wish to achieve through my assistance. From there, I would detail a weekly plan which we would work through together. For instance, if the pupil wanted to develop their skills in assessing poetry, over six weeks we would assess different aspects of poetry including form, metre, literary techniques, rhythm, and narration in order to create an overall blueprint by which they would, upon completion, be able to assess any piece of poetry given to them. I am very patient and thorough, but I also ensure that the most has been made of the time available by encouraging a dedicated work ethic.
