About Sahara
I am currently an English teacher at The Sittingbourne School where I have been teaching for four years. I am also Second in department for Character Education.
Prior to this, I was teaching at Tonbridge Grammar School For 6 years where I taught MYP (Middle years programme) and the International Baccalaureate. The school also had GCSE for years 10/11.
These two contrasting schools have given me the opportunity to develop my skills as a teacher as I am able to scaffold my lessons to cater to diverse needs. It has also allowed me to consider the types of resources that would trigger student interests. Furthermore, it has also shown that regardless of the individual level of learning, my expectations for students to achieve their goals and attain their certificate levels, is very important.
My teaching career began in New Zealand, Wellington where
I taught for four years and was second in department for English for two of those four years.
I am passionate about learning but most importantly the joy of having a student attain their goal is by far the most rewarding; to see all their hard work pay off.

It is important to understand what the needs are of the individual student, so that I am able to cater my lessons to suit individual needs.
I have a diverse approach to learning whether it is through the use of images, modelling or step by step guidance to ensure what is taught is understood.
My expectations for myself and my student is very high and I believe every student is more than capable of achieving their target with patience, understating and resilience.
