About Lydia
Hello! My name is Lydia and I'm a 25 year old English literature graduate from the United Kingdom. I was working with the NHS during the pandemic and I am looking to start teaching and tutoring as I recently achieved my TEFL certificate, and I really enjoy helping others learn. I love language learning (I am currently studying Spanish!) and I hope to share this passion to help you with your English!
My interests include literature, history, the natural world and travel. I also love climbing and surfing, and I am always open to learning and trying new things!

I have a TEFL Level 5 certification and a degree in English Literature. My teaching methodology is student-centered and focuses on creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of the learner. I believe in using a variety of methods to support student learning and promote critical thinking and I encourage student voice and choice, and provide opportunities for collaboration and inquiry-based learning.
I am very flexible on topics and am happy to discuss whatever you feel comfortable talking about! I believe that you will get more out of a lesson on a topic that you are interested in, so we can start out at your level with topics you already know so we can begin to grow your confidence. From here we can expand both the language ability and branch out into more varied topics to keep things engaging and challenging!
If there is something in particular that you need to focus on to improve or, for instance, you have an interview or application coming up, we can work to practice these areas as much as you would like - these lessons are about you!
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced learner, I'm here to help you achieve your goals and reach your full potential. I know that each student has unique needs and learning styles, and I am committed to creating a personalized learning experience that meets your individual needs.
