About Ceda
Stories are everywhere. They are at the heart of everything we do, whether we know it or not.
We all have a story to tell, and this is very much the main drive behind my work. Working with children and teenagers alike, I'm passionate about providing the tools and knowledge needed to inspire confidence in students when it comes to writing and sharing their work. Exams and essays can be scary - but they don't have to be!
A little bit of information about me, I’m a current postgraduate student studying a Creative Writing MSc at Edinburgh University with a particular interest in small-press publishing. Last year I started a micro-press called Overneath Books where I publish international anthologies of poetry, story and art.
I hold a first-class honours BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Falmouth University and an A* in English Literature and Language in both A-level and GCSE. My creative work has been published in various magazines and anthologies.
My previous teaching experience has been running creative writing workshops for children in local libraries and literary events. I also specialise in tutoring GCSE students, covering basic analytical skills and providing help on how to write an essay.

Need help with your English and writing skills?
My lessons are comprised of fun, creative workshops that can be tailored to whatever you need. Designed to help you with English and writing skills, together we can explore the best ways in which to write a story, an essay or pass a test.
A typical lesson will be one hour long, however, this can be flexible to the needs of the student. After each lesson I may set an easy task, for example: bring one of your favourite books to the next session and tell me 5 reasons why it's your favourite.
From there we can explore what makes good stories tick and how you may construct your own. This is also helpful for any English GCSE students who may be struggling with analysing texts in class. Using an approach tailored to the needs of the student, we can carefully deconstruct a novel in a way that is simple, creative and fun.
English is about stories, so the creative aspect of my work will very much be at the forefront of these lessons. If there is a story you've written or would like to write, feel free to bring your ideas along! I can provide practical, helpful feedback and exercises on how to improve your writing skills, which will serve as a strong foundation for your future studies and exams.
My qualifications:
- Creative Writing Postgraduate MSc student at the University of Edinburgh.
- First Class Honours BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Falmouth University.
- A* English Literature A-level and GCSE.
- Experience in publishing, I run a small publication house that publishes poetry, art and stories. Previously to this, I worked for a publishing company specialising in books for children.
- Previous experience working with children, I used to run creative writing workshops in the local library.
