About Maddie
I'm an encouraging and positive person who has recently graduated from university in English and American studies, specialising in American history and Modern English.
With 3 years of experience, I understand that seeking a tutor can be due to a lack of confidence in a subject as well as for those aspiring to reach the next grade. I can establish the student's current confidence in their subject and provide a simple and reachable strategy for getting to the desired target, and teach it with ease whilst instilling motivation and success. English, whether it be linguistic or literature, is my passion, I love to see others succeed in something they once didn't believe in.

In a typical length session of 45 minutes to 1 hour, my approach to tutoring encompasses a mixture of establishing what the student already understands whilst aiding them in feeling positive and motivated towards their learning, by adding simple yet extremely effective tasks which build and improve their confidence and knowledge to then succeed in their subject.
I have tutored English language and literature for 3 years from the ages of 12-16. However, as a graduate specialising in English and History I have a level of tutoring experience suitable for those looking to succeed at A-level as well as GCSE, or want advice and help at undergraduate level.
