About Daniel
Hello,
My name is Daniel. I am currently living in Houston, Texas, but I have just returned from Spain, where I taught English for a year in the city of Santander. Over the next few years I will be traveling to many more countries to teach English and hope to share those experiences and knowledge with my students! My hobbies include reading, hanging out with my dog (Baloo) we love to go on hikes, playing video games, watching shows (I love cartoons, anime, and anything science fiction or fantasy), playing soccer, or any outdoor activities in general. My biggest hobby though, is writing. I am developing/writing a book series. The first two books are finished, and we are currently working on the third book. Before we release we are also turning the book into a graphic novel, which we hope to have the first volume ready by January.
My goal in life is to love what I do, to travel, and to create stories, and I am already doing all of those things. Every other year I travel to a different country to teach English, and teaching English is what I love. I have been officially teaching inside of classrooms and online for four years; however, I began tutoring English and assisting with essay writing in 2016. Throughout my experience I have taught all ages ranging from three years old all the way to adults. I began tutoring online companies based out of China such as VIPkid and Qkids, and while I still work for those companies I have since gone on to work in in-person classroom settings as well. In my courses, for all my courses, the aim is to broaden horizons in all aspects. Through these lessons we will not only learn English, but we will explore and learn about the world too and how to connect and communicate with others in a respectable, professional, loving manner.
I prefer a structured yet flexible classroom. In my class we will have lessons and goals to reach, but we will also have the choice to change things up if we choose, adjust on the spot and really have fun...while we also learn. I also find that students ingest and digest knowledge when they enjoy what they are doing, and that is my goal to make each lesson fun, engaging, enlightening, safe, and of course, educational.

My lessons take on a more natural, conversational approach. I do not like to repeat lessons or regurgitate the same information over and over. I like variety, and I like for my students to not just learn something from my classes, but to enjoy them as well. I find the best way to do that is to understand and get to know my students. Therefore the trial lesson will be a meet-and-greet. Where we will talk freely and get to know one another. During the trial lesson we will discuss what the student wishes to achieve, where they are struggling, and how to improve. After the trial, once I have a grasp on the student's English level and skill, I will then begin to tailor each lesson individually to the student's needs, providing a timeline with specific goals to reach, so that the student can get a sense of growth and accomplishment after each week.
I also have 4+ years teaching ESL - including a year abroad teaching in Spain - and I currently have online ESL students from all over the world. For ESL I am comfortable with and can assist students with zero English knowledge (A1) to advanced (C2+) learners.
I have taught students from the ages of 5 to 50. My lessons are for anyone and everyone wishing to improve their grammar, essay writing, creative writing, reading, comprehension, analyzing, academic English, conversation and pronunciation, cultural understanding, and confidence in speaking.
