About Lawrence
In my experience of lecturing in South Africa, language of learning, is an important issue. Most of my students English is not their home language, yet most of the teaching, learning, reading, and writing is in English. In this situation many students may need support with their studies, in particular with their writing using the English language. Writing is a critical part of all schooling - students learn through the writing process. Student writing and responding to student writing therefore plays an important role in my teaching.

I give you feedback on any English language writing task given to you by your teachers. This is called a writing - responding process. You send me a draft of the written task and I respond by making comments. You are required to use the comments and re-write until you get it right - be it an essay, an assignment , a report, whatever the task you have to do. I do not mark the written work. The idea is to help you with your learning, with improving your written work - you learn through the writing - responding- feedback - re-writing process. What also could help improve your success is writing answers to past examination questions or test questions. As most examinations are written examinations, you need practice with writing answers to questions. I can give you feedback on your writing. The point is students learn through the writing and writing - responding process. So give me a call to chat about your writing (using the English language).
