About Elina
Hi! I'm an approachable dedicated tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. I’ve always loved learning — especially breaking down complex ideas into something manageable and clear — and I aim to bring that same clarity and encouragement to every session. I tutor because I know how powerful personalised support can be. Whether a student is aiming for top grades or simply needs help building confidence, I’m here to guide them through it in a way that makes sense to them; tailored sessions are important to me since they ensure my clientele gets the most out of the sessions in a more positive atmosphere. I’ve supported students in different settings — as a tutor, a mentor, and a DBS checked Scout Leader — and I’ve seen how the right approach can completely change how someone feels about a subject. Tutoring isn’t just about knowing the material — it’s about listening, adapting, and building trust.

My methods of teaching:
Tailored Learning:
- if a student requires more visual learning or auditory learning, I will adapt my lessons/sessions to support the student
- I will tailor each session to the student's pace, needs and preferred learning styles
Engaging Methods:
- I have numerous resources at hand including PowerPoints I have made that helps break down complex issues step by step in a visual learning sense with associated tasks
Interactive sessions; active recall and spaced repetitions
-To keep sessions interesting and help students retain information for the long-term simultaneously boosting memory
Progress tracking:
- regular check-ins and mini-assessments to monitor improvement and identify where extra support is needed to ensure confidence and success
Exam-focused Practice
-past papers, mark schemes, technique drills and exam questions yet to come up
Typical Length of a lesson/session is 1 hour - ONLINE
I have been a tutor before, am currently a mentor as well as weekly volunteering as a DBS checked Scout Leader - been through all the required checks.
Relevant academic qualifications: GCSEs: A** in French, B in German, A* in geography, A** English Language, A* English Literature. AS Level: EPQ = A* (based upon English literature) A-Level: predicted A* in geography, B in French, A/A* in English Literature
Clientele: KS3 - Year 7 -> Year 9 (ages 11->14) - available tutoring for English literature, English Language, French, German and Geography GCSE - Year 10 -> Year 11 (ages 14-16) - available tutoring for Geography, English Literature, English Language, French A-Level - Year 12 -> Year 13 (ages 16-18) - available tutoring for Geography and English Literature
I only teach OCR English Literature to an A-level standard and AQA English Literature and Language at GCSE
