The English lesson will take on this basic flow:
*This is the standard lesson format. If students wish for an alternative lesson, such as homework help, pronunciation practice, focus on slang, etc., that can certainly be arranged.
0. Vocab quiz:
- Students will receive a vocab list from the previous lesson, and will need to memorize the words you learn.
- Before attending the next lesson, you must complete the online quiz, which will be reviewed and returned to the student.
- If the student receives a poor grade on the quiz, a review will be incorporated into a future lesson.
1. A new scenario
- Much of the lessons will be scenario or theme based, according to your level of English.
-The scenario will be explained, and notes of context may be added.
-The tutor will then run a scenario through with the student.
- Entry level English students may engage with scenarios with the tutor such as: How to order food, how to greet people, how to talk to a policeman.
- Intermediate level English students may engage with scenarios with the tutor such as: Making friends with English speakers, etiquette over the phone, formal language.
- Higher level English students may engage with scenarios with the tutor such as: How to comfort someone in English, how to talk about religion in English, how to navigate controversial discussions.
2. Review of scenario
- The tutor will give feedback to the student on how they performed, and allow the student to ask questions
- The tutor will take note of vocabulary that will benefit the student.
3. More information on contexts
- The tutor will do a deeper dive on the context that was discussed so that the student has a thorough understanding of the context.
- Example: If the tutor is running the student through a scenario in which the student asks for directions, the tutor will discuss the taboos of approaching strangers, and how to approach a stranger appropriately.
4. Reflection, time for questions, discussion time. (Conclusion)
- In the remaining time, the student is able to ask any questions regarding the English language, on the subject of the lesson, or any other questions.
-If there is still remaining time, the tutor will use the time to look over a vocabulary quiz that had a poor performance.
-If the student has performed well on the vocabulary quiz, the tutor will engage in further English conversations with the student until the time ends so that the student gains as much time practicing their English as possible.

We met completely by chance.
At the time, I was looking for a job, and he was the staff member who received my resume.
My English level was quite low back then, but he kindly looked through my resume and even helped correct it.
He was incredibly kind, and that was how I started learning English from him.
He is from New Zealand, but he has lived in countries like Japan and the US, so he has very little accent and speaks clear, easy-to-understand English, even for beginners.
Because he has lived in non-English-speaking countries, he truly understands how difficult it can be to learn English and how to support students with lower proficiency.
He always explains things in a very clear and patient way.
Not only is he an excellent teacher, but he is also a wonderful person—someone I truly respect.
Meeting him was a great stroke of luck in my life.
Thanks to learning English from him, I am now able to pursue what I truly wanted to do in English.
For all these reasons, I strongly and wholeheartedly recommend him!!!!I experienced Isaac teaching an English class firsthand at an event for non-native English speakers (Mandarin, Japanese & Korean).
He impressed me with an engaging and purposeful teaching plan, great articulation of both conversational and advanced English, and an easy rapport with students of all ages.
Isaac is great at encouraging you to learn and explore a language with him, and furthermore building upon that to speak and understand English on a daily basis. Highly recommend him as a tutor!View more recommendations

Pricing is based on my experience and my fluency in English and Japanese that other tutors often do not have. I also attempt to stand out by making sure each lesson is curated for the student, rather than running through a textbook that may not work for each student.
