About Maxine

My name is Maxine, and I'm French, but my father is English, so I grew up in both cultures. I'm 22 years old and currently studying for a Master's degree in Philology in Spain. I have a Bachelor's degree in Philology and an International Baccalaureate (OIB) in Anglophone Literature, which gives me a lot of useful theoretical knowledge when teaching. I love reading, climbing, and doing yoga. I also enjoy discovering new things, so I appreciate it when students bring their own interests to class. I'm very open, patient, and, above all, I never judge a student for making mistakes. It's perfectly normal and part of learning. I even make mistakes in Spanish sometimes! Asking questions or making mistakes isn't a sign of being silly; it means we're trying. And that's what's most important. My goal is to support people who want to learn—or who need to for exams—without pressure, judgment, and with a smile.

About the lesson

After spending a year as a language assistant in Spain, I was able to develop my own teaching method. I adapt to each student's needs. The classes are interactive and as dynamic as possible. Typically, half the class is dedicated to theoretical elements, and the other half to practical activities to give meaning to all this theory, which tends to be quite abstract. I can also prepare students for language exams. I welcome all levels. I love seeing people motivated to learn my language! It's never too late, it's never impossible.
