About Gwen
I am qualified to teach both English and Maths to children, young people and adults. I have been qualified since 2009 in Essential Skills Literacy and Numeracy and have taught both subjects in formal settings to groups as well as providing one to one tuition to all age groups.

I am a mature woman who just loves to teach English and Maths. I use simple, yet memorable techniques to support learners. I like to know what my students like to do outside of learning so I can tailor my lessons to support how they learn using familiar topics which interest the learner.
I am creative when it comes to putting lessons together. I will use various materials (current and interesting) to demonstrate how to apply difficult concepts in a fun and engaging manner.
I assess my students against proven methods and build my lesson plans from there. I am flexible and can adjust lessons as required. I enjoy helping students switch on that light of understanding and I do this in a way which is both comfortable and showing empathy for the student.
I am all about making sure that the student has a memorable learning experience.
