About Carrie
I have several years experience working with children of all ages, both in teaching and tutoring (Modern Languages, drama and musical theatre), children's entertainment and babysitting. I have an A-Level in English Literature, a BA (2.1 Durham University) and Postgraduate Certificate in French and German (specialising in Literature and Interpreting) and a deep passion for literature! I write poetry, short stories and children's books and poetry and read voraciously, and particularly love having the opportunity to inspire this passion in others.

I particularly enjoy one-on-one tutoring because it enables me to focus solely on the needs of one pupil, to have the opportunity to identify how best I can support them and to tailor my approach accordingly. Put simply - my approach will adapt to your / your child's needs. I firmly believe that rediscovering a passion for learning is a question of finding the aspect which most excites you - be that discovering French film or discovering a link between the books you love reading and the books on your GCSE syllabus. My classes will therefore be up-to-date and active, focusing on contemporary culture and events. For younger children, I focus on the acquisition of skills through a variety of activities - French English and German songs, stories and games (all of which can be carried out indoors or online).
