About Hariharan
I don’t just teach students how to solve problems; I teach them how to think like engineers. As an Engineering Ph.D. student and a dedicated STEM communicator, I bring a level of rigor and clarity to tutoring that goes beyond the classroom.
Whether I am lecturing on YouTube or creating custom Manim animations to deconstruct Calculus, my goal is to provide a 'lightbulb moment' for every student. My background in Wireless Communication research allows me to ground abstract Physics and Chemistry in real-world technology, making the material stick.
Why trust me with your success?
Proven Authority: I have successfully guided students through the high-stakes MCAT and AP exams, backed by glowing Letters of Recommendation.
Professional Precision: I provide structured, data-driven lesson plans tailored to your specific standardized goals.
Investment: I take your success personally. I am committed to your growth, your confidence, and your results.
Let’s stop the memorization and start the mastery. I look forward to building your success plan together.

Hi, I’m Hariharan. As an Engineering Ph.D. student, I believe that if you can’t draw a concept, you don't truly understand it. I move students away from rote memorization and toward a deep, graphical understanding of STEM.
My Methodology & Techniques
The Graphical View: My teaching is rooted in visualization. Whether it’s Calculus or Organic Chemistry, we focus on the "geometry" of the problem before we touch the algebra.
Manim Animations: I utilize Manim (the mathematical animation engine) to create custom, dynamic visuals for complex topics. This allows students to see "moving parts" in math and physics that static textbooks simply cannot capture.
The Feynman Technique: We break down MCAT and AP-level topics into plain English. If you can explain it simply, you’ve mastered it.
A Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan
The "Recall" Warm-up (5-10 min): Strengthening neural pathways by revisiting the hardest concept from our last session.
Visual Deep-Dive (20-25 min): Introducing new material through graphical drawing and animations. We look at the "why" behind the graph before deriving the formula.
Guided Application (15-20 min): Solving high-level problems (AP/MCAT style) together, applying our visual intuition to avoid common "formula traps."
Roadmap & Strategy (5 min): Defining the objective for the week and assigning targeted practice.
What Sets Me Apart?
Visual Logic: I don't just "teach" Calculus; I show you how it lives on a coordinate plane. My students develop a "gut feeling" for math and physics.
The YouTube Edge: As a creator of Chemistry lectures, I have refined the art of clear, concise communication. I know exactly where students stumble and how to guide them through.
Ph.D. Rigor: My research in Wireless Communication allows me to bring real-world engineering examples into every lesson, making "dry" physics feel relevant and exciting.
Who the Lessons Are For
High School: Honors/AP Chemistry, AP Physics, and a specific focus on Visual Calculus.
Pre-Med: Students aiming for top-tier scores in MCAT Physics and Chemistry.
Engineering Undergrads: Students needing to bridge the gap between theory and practical application.
Recommendations

Hariharan tutored me for several college courses as well as the MCAT and did a phenomenal job teaching me Physics, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. We worked one-on-one through all the AAMC and UWorld practice questions for these subjects as well as on reviewing MCAT practice exam questions together. My Phys/Chem MCAT score increased considerably after working with Hariharan. I strongly recommend Hariharan to anyone who needs tutoring in Physics, Chemistry, or Math, at any level up to and including the college level, not only for thorough understanding of concepts but also for test-taking strategies. Hariharan is one of the most patient and thoughtful tutors I've ever had, and I've been educated in 8 schools across 2 continents. Hariharan has been an incredibly strong resource in my journey to Medical School, and I'm forever grateful for his astute subject matter insights and his individualized teaching methodologies. You cannot go wrong with picking Hariharan as your tutor.
Hariharan is my friend from university and has helped me learn a variety of topics during our studies. Some of the topics he has helped me with include Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability, Complex Numbers.
He is an excellent teacher and you will have a wonderful experience learning from him.
Here are a few qualities that sets him apart:
1. He is extremely patient and understanding. There have been several instances where I have been confused about or have totally missed a concept but Hariharan would never hesitate to help me and would ensure I have understood it correctly no matter how long it takes.
2. He communicates effectively. In particular, he is very good at explaining complex topics in a simple and digestible manner.
3. He has a deep understanding of the subject and possesses a remarkable skill of highlighting the essence of a topic without compromising on the details.
Overall, I would strongly recommend Hariharan for an enjoyable and productive learning experience.View more recommendations
