About Elia
I think maths is a misunderstood subject. We tend to think we're either maths people or not, but I don't think that's the case. I was certainly flipped into a 'maths person' by an incredible teacher that boosted my confidence and I hope to do the same for you! I've been tutoring for 2 years now, starting off with friends and then some younger IGCSE students too. I love to tutor because of the moment when the student clicks; it's the most rewarding part.
Apart from academics and tutoring, I spend my time baking and playing basketball, two things I often like to create scenarios about during class to help you understand things, so definitely let me know if you enjoy them too!

There are thousands of different approaches to each question and enjoying the subject is just a matter of finding the one that works for you. I've tutored maths SAT students as well as IGCSE students in the past and I've found that solving questions for your specific exam board is the best way to achieve the top grades. I try to find different perspectives/ approaches for each question until one clicks because I understand that repeating the same explanation can just get frustrating for you. From then we can take tangents to ensure the knowledge behind each step is covered (i.e the theory) whilst also knowing how to use it to solve a part of the question.
