About Ellie
I am a 4th year student of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, where I am specialising in biomedical engineering. Before coming to university, I achieved 3 A*s in my A-Levels (maths, further maths and physics) and 5 9s, 3 8s and 2 7s in my GCSEs (grade 9s included maths and physics). I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge in the subjects I love, seeing those I teach finally grasp concepts that seemed impossible to begin with. I have tutored friends and family throughout GCSEs and A-Levels and have run countless university admissions advice sessions.

Good tutoring begins with good relationships. I build these by engaging my students in personalised, clear and informative sessions. I like to focus on my students' intuitive understanding of a topic by asking thought-provoking questions as we work together through a topic or exam question. This allows me to identify gaps in the student's knowledge that they may not have recognised themselves. Above all, I strive to make my sessions enjoyable for the student by being friendly, supportive and patient with them throughout. My sessions generally no longer than an hour for students of GCSE and A-Level age.

I found Ellie to tutor my sister who was struggling in maths. She did a fantastic job - very easy to get along with and very good at explaining things in simple ways. My sister then went on to achieve the marks she wanted. Ellie is a great tutor for anyone whose child is lacking confidence with their maths!
