About Kaia
I am an engineering student and have taken my fair share of math courses. I have studied, practiced, read about, and focused on math for a good portion of my time at college alone, it's a passion of mine. But math is not my only passion, I also enjoy studying French and reading. I love to play music and take my mind of school by practicing trumpet or piano or by picking up my guitar. I think that keeping a balance between school work and down time is essential for learning. I know the feeling when you are close to a test and feel like you do not know anything, its a scary place to be, but I know that with hard work and determination we can work out study schedules, practice, and prepare you for any quiz, test, or exam that comes your way.

I know what it is like to feel completely lost in your math or science class, its terrifying. The work keeps building up but you are still on the lesson from last week, not the best place to be. I have been there are learned what works best for me to pull myself back up to speed. I believe in an example filled approach, I like to explain the concept in bite-sized pieces and have an example being portrayed each step of the way. I find that if you understand why you do each step, then you will remember the solving process better for an upcoming quiz or homework, and in the long-run. While this method works for me, I understand that everyone is different. I will ask some questions and do trial-and-error with you to find what works best with your unique learning style. I can teach basic math, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus/ AP Calculus AB. I particularly enjoy trigonometry and really enjoy explaining its workings.
