About Kundanika
My name is Kundanika Ghosh, and I’m passionate about helping students not only succeed in math, but actually enjoy the learning process. I recently graduated from Uplift North Hills Preparatory as an IB Diploma student and will be studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. I have worked as a peer tutor before for numerous subjects, and students typically mention that they felt my way of explaining difficult concepts really helped them gain a stronger foundation and helped improve their grades. I’ve taken some of the most rigorous math courses available—including IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL—and even self-studied AP Calculus BC outside of school. I understand what it feels like to struggle with a tough concept, and I also know how rewarding it is when everything finally clicks. That’s why I’m here: to help you get to that “aha!” moment with clarity, patience, and structure. As a tutor, I take my work seriously. I’m always prepared, responsive, and focused on your goals. Whether you're working through class assignments, preparing for exams, or trying to get ahead, I’ll meet you where you are and help you move forward with confidence. You don’t need to be a math genius to do well—you just need the right support. Let’s tackle it together!

My Approach as a Tutor: As a tutor, I aim to make complex concepts feel intuitive and engaging. I approach every student as an individual, tailoring my teaching to their specific learning style, goals, and pace. My method blends deep conceptual understanding with practical application—because it’s not just about knowing how to solve a problem, but understanding why the solution works.
Teaching Method and Techniques
Foundational Clarity: I begin by identifying and strengthening core concepts.
Socratic Questioning: I guide students through problems with leading questions, helping them discover answers for themselves and build confidence.
Visualization & Analogies: For abstract ideas, I use graphs, real-world scenarios, or metaphors to solidify understanding.
Mistake Analysis: I treat errors as learning opportunities. We work through where the thought process went off-track to avoid future repetition.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Check-In (5 min): Brief recap of previous session and goals for today.
Concept Dive (15-20 min): Introduce or review a key idea using examples and discussion.
Guided Practice (20 min): Work through progressively challenging problems together.
Independent Try & Feedback (10-15 min): Student applies skills while I offer real-time feedback.
Wrap-Up (5 min): Review major takeaways, identify problem areas, and assign light reinforcement practice if requested.
What Sets Me Apart
I’ve been the student who self-studied AP Calculus BC—so I understand how to break down advanced math for someone without a classroom teacher.
As an previous IB HL Math AA student, I’m familiar with rigorous expectations and how to balance depth and speed.
I don’t teach to memorize—I teach to understand. My goal is to build independence, not dependency.
Enthusiasm matters. I genuinely enjoy math, and I believe that makes a difference in how it's received.
Who My Lessons Are For
High school students, especially those in:
IB Math (AA SL/HL)
AP Calculus AB/BC (even self-studiers)
AP Chemistry
AP Physics C: Mechanics
AP Physics 1/2
Honors Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, or College Algebra
Honors Chemistry, and Physics
Students prepping for college entrance math, looking to sharpen fundamentals or gain an edge
Curious learners who want to go beyond the curriculum and understand how math applies in engineering, data science, or everyday thinking
