About Karl
I have been a part of VT's engineering program since fall 2019. I'm an MMA Club member, weightlifter, and aspiring Construction Engineer. Since I'm one of the only people among my peer group to be able to self-teach calculus, I have extensive experience teaching others complex concepts within high-level math and science courses. As a side note, I taught martial arts classes as an instructor at Savior Martial Arts throughout high school. That being said, my geek level and sensei abilities make for a pretty solid tutor.

I have always been a strong believer in hands on-learning. Although this is easier said than done in a math setting, I plan to orient my lessons around solving and understanding problems relevant to each student's course assignments. This will make classes feel more like practice than lecture. This is why I will structure my classes as short problem-solving sessions with each student's learning needs held as the top priority.
