About Brandon
I am an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Student. I have experience with peer support and mentoring in SQA courses and in taking them myself. I also have a breadth of experience in outreach and STEM education and I am a registered, background checked STEM Ambassador. I have tutored students and early career professionals including SQA, GCSE and A Level, developing study plans and covering topics in new ways. My background in STEM outreach means I am very familiar with common issues students face with the current curriculum.
I am very familiar with the Course Assessment Specifications and the Curriculum for Excellence, as well as what the University application process looks like for STEM courses. My tutoring involves consistent exam prep and exam skills.
In regards to Accreditation I am now graduating with a course average of 75-80% (final graduation award pending until results are released in June) and moving on to pursue an EngD (Doctorate) in systems engineering with applied photonics.

I want to help any and all students studying maths at any SQA level, GCSE, A (Including Further and AS), or pre exam level. This could be to cover a broad array of topics to develop understanding and help ensure a pass, or to target specifics and assist with revision and study to make an A more secure. I also understand that maths can be difficult in traditional teaching environments which rely on a one size for all approach, so I can tailor teaching directly to students to make concepts more understandable and methods of practice more enjoyable as confidence is key when it comes to SQA maths. Over my time tutoring I have developed a range of tools to make online tutoring more effective and accessible (including using a graphic tablet with a streamed whiteboard and interactive online revision quizzes), meaning there is no detriment to remote tuition.
