About Joidan
I am a fresh graduate who has taught primary school students English in various settings e.g. local Chinese students, Indian students in India as a volunteer (for six weeks).
I am passionate to help students see the language not simply as an academic subject but a passion they can love and utilize for their own good and the good of others in the future.

My teaching method varies according to the needs of the student.
For example, if they are slow, I would repeat the lessons in various different ways that would be interesting to them.
If they lack motivation, I would try to talk to them as a friend to help him or her see that the language is a tool to be utilized, not a burden.
If they have a behavior problem, I would try to spend time with them to see what is going on in their life and help in a way that is genuinely helpful.
Most of the time, the problem lies in one's beliefs e.g. studies is a waste of time or some hidden resentment towards peers or past teachers that hinder one's progress in academics.
Behaviorial problems are only symptoms which proceed from deeply rooted maladies of the heart, which require much time, patience, love, attention to overcome. Students are not wooden planks for us to hit our "goal" or "target" hammers, but are people entrusted to a teacher to nurture and guide.
