About Nick
Hi, I’m Nick, a final-year Integrated Design Engineering student at the University of Bath. I’ve always enjoyed maths and problem solving, and tutoring is something I find really fulfilling because I get to help students build confidence in areas they may have previously found difficult. I know that subjects like maths can sometimes feel frustrating or intimidating, so I aim to create lessons that feel supportive, clear and encouraging. My goal is not just to help students improve in the short term, but to help them become confident and independent enough that they eventually no longer need me. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, developing their understanding step by step, and gaining the skills to tackle problems confidently on their own.

I teach Maths and Further Maths for all years, including GCSE and A-Level, and I pride myself on delivering lessons that are structured, supportive and tailored to each student. I'm happy to run a free 15 minute trial lesson where I discuss my availability and showcase my teaching approach in a "simulated lesson". My lessons are typically one hour long, but I am also happy to offer double sessions where helpful. I begin by identifying a student’s weakest areas, then work closely with them to turn those topics into strengths before moving on to the next area for improvement. This creates a clear and focused path to progress, helping students build skill, confidence and independence over time. I’m always happy to adjust my approach based on what the student wants from tutoring, whether that is strengthening foundations, improving exam performance, or pushing towards the highest grades.
