About Sonia
My name is Sonia, and I have always loved English from the day I learned to read. With a passion for language and literature, I am committed to not only helping students succeed academically, but also learning to love literature the way I do.
I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, express their ideas, and explore their interests. With an emphasis on critical thinking and clear communication, I help students build a strong foundation in reading, writing, and analysis skills essential for their exams. My lessons are well-structured yet flexible, with plenty of interactive exercises to keep students motivated and engaged.
I look forward to helping students achieve their personal best in a relaxed, productive environment.

Teaching Approach for GCSE English Tutoring
My approach to teaching English is to make learning both engaging and meaningful. I believe that students learn best when they’re actively involved, so I aim to create an interactive and supportive environment where they feel comfortable expressing ideas and exploring the language. By incorporating activities such as discussions, creative writing, and analysis of diverse texts, I help students connect with English in a way that’s both relevant and enjoyable.
Techniques and Teaching Methodology
I focus on developing core skills in reading, writing, and comprehension, with an emphasis on critical thinking and analysis. Each lesson is tailored to individual needs, whether we’re working on essay structure, interpreting literature, or improving vocabulary and grammar. I also incorporate fun exercises, like literary games and discussions, to make the lessons dynamic and foster a genuine interest in English.
Lesson Length
Each lesson is an hour long, giving us time to dive into new topics while also reviewing previous material. This duration allows for a balanced, focused session without overwhelming my student, helping them retain information and build their skills gradually.
Qualifications and Experience
With two years of experience tutoring, I have developed effective methods to help students improve their comprehension and analytical skills. My aim is to help students gain confidence in expressing their thoughts and understanding complex texts, setting them up for success in their exams.
