About Luke
I am a current studying mathematics student at the university of Birmingham. Although I have no previous experience in teaching Maths I do have a number of years experience teaching swimming which may not seem important, but the skills I have developed keeping children engaged and interested in lessons and also in making sure they are enjoying themselves are without doubt transferable. I have always enjoyed helping others with maths as it is a subject which comes more naturally to me and I get a lot out of seeing people improve. I hope I can frame questions and explanations in a way which is accessible to all ages and skill levels so that maths can become something which is not dreaded. I have ways of turning most mathematical concepts into games which people can enjoy, and I believe this method of teaching also provides much better retention rates for students. My in person rate is much higher due to the travel cost and time but my online sessions are much cheaper and if the commute is short I can discuss reducing the price of the in person lessons.
