About Harper
I have 13 years of teaching experience and hold a Master of Education in Secondary Mathematics. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of varying abilities, helping them develop mathematical confidence through patient guidance, structured instruction, and individualized support. I enjoy creating lessons that encourage curiosity, persistence, and independent thinking.
One learner struggled with solving equations involving algebraic fractions because identifying common denominators while maintaining equation balance often caused mistakes. Through structured demonstrations, guided practice, and carefully sequenced exercises, the student gradually mastered the topic and achieved significant improvement in examination performance.
I believe algebra develops logical reasoning, organization, perseverance, and confidence that support students throughout their education and future careers. Outside teaching, I enjoy creating mathematics enrichment activities, mentoring new educators, and exploring digital learning resources that make mathematics more engaging.

My teaching philosophy is based on helping students build confidence by understanding mathematical ideas instead of memorizing procedures. Every learning journey begins with an assessment that identifies the student's current abilities, learning preferences, confidence level, study habits, and academic objectives. Using these insights, I develop a personalized learning plan that strengthens foundational algebra concepts before introducing more advanced topics through carefully organized lessons.
Students receive instruction in algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, graphing, functions, polynomial operations, rational expressions, radicals, exponents, logarithms, systems of equations, sequences, coordinate algebra, algebraic identities, and mathematical modeling. Lessons combine interactive discussions, guided demonstrations, visual explanations, collaborative problem-solving, independent practice, and concept reviews. Students are encouraged to explain their reasoning, compare multiple solving strategies, and identify mathematical patterns that improve long-term understanding and analytical thinking.
Lessons include practical examples from business management, construction planning, software development, healthcare analytics, financial forecasting, transportation systems, and renewable energy projects to demonstrate how algebra is applied in everyday life and professional careers. Regular assessments, cumulative revision activities, personalized assignments, and detailed progress reviews ensure that learning remains focused, measurable, and effective.
Students preparing for school examinations, board assessments, SAT, ACT, scholarship tests, university entrance examinations, or mathematics competitions receive individualized revision plans, timed practice sessions, examination strategies, and detailed academic feedback that builds confidence and improves performance.
