About Margaret
I am a 37-year-old mother of 2. I am a professional Actress and English, Business Studies and Drama Tutor. I studied Drama at the Tshwane University of Technology and the Method Acting Training Centre in Pretoria, and this gave me a fantastic understanding of the application of various techniques that can be used in different story-telling and teaching scenarios. I have been performing from the age of 4, and have done so professionally for 20 years. I also studied Journalism for 2 years at the Tshwane University of Technology, but my passion for performing arts kept nagging at me to continue with the Theatre life. I have a TEFL Level 5 Diploma and I am ecstatic that I am a qualified English tutor in a subject I have loved, excelled and expressed myself in for my entire life. I had a distinction in English and Business Studies in Matric. I have tutoring experience, from tutoring children to adults from all walks of life and with differing home languages.

I create and adapt sessions to suit the needs of each student. Through doing a needs assessment I can gauge whether a student is in need of a teacher-centered, facilitator-styled or blended approach. I believe all these teaching styles have their own merit but choosing the right fit for an individual depends on the personality, level of proficiency and other needs of the student.
