About Olivia
I minored in French while studying mathematics at Berkeley and then led the campus’s French conversation table. I structure French lessons around immersive activities. We begin with a “news of the week” segment—reading a short French article—and discuss key vocabulary. Next, we focus on targeted grammar (e.g., past tenses or pronoun placement) through interactive exercises and role-plays (ordering at a café, making travel plans). Listening practice uses authentic clips (interviews, song excerpts). I assign brief speaking tasks and writing prompts, offering detailed feedback on fluency and accuracy. Suitable for absolute beginners to intermediate learners working toward DELF B1.
