Singing is an intimate form of expression that combines the physical, emotional, and cultural dimensions of the human experience. My teaching approach integrates Communication, Creativity, Cultural Sensitivity, and Accountability to create a learning environment that fosters growth in all these areas. Communication is essential to building a foundation of trust and clarity; I encourage open dialogue so you feel heard and understood, and I explain techniques in ways that relate directly to your experience. Creativity is at the heart of our sessions;
I use imaginative exercises like vocal painting, storytelling, and lyric exploration to keep lessons engaging and to deepen your connection to the music. Cultural sensitivity enriches the learning process by inviting students to approach songs with respect for their origins and significance, while also helping you choose material that reflects your personal identity and values.
Accountability ensures steady progress—I provide structured practice guides, timely feedback, and regular goal reviews that motivate and empower you. Alongside these values, we work on developing healthy vocal habits, expanding range and dynamics, refining tone quality, and mastering stylistic nuances.
