About Lucas
Teaching guitar for 8 years has been a truly fulfilling experience, especially working with students from school and college backgrounds who bring their own unique goals and musical tastes. My teaching philosophy centers on making learning both structured and creative, helping students build strong technical foundations while nurturing their artistic expression. I start with essential techniques such as proper finger positioning, smooth chord changes, rhythm, and timing, building skills that enable students to play confidently and comfortably. At the same time, I integrate improvisation, songwriting, and music theory in a practical way that keeps lessons interesting and meaningful. Using music that students connect with helps maintain motivation and enjoyment. One highlight of my teaching career was mentoring a group of students who formed a band and performed successfully at local festivals and school events. Watching their growth in musicianship, confidence, and teamwork was incredibly rewarding. Beyond guitar technique, I focus on developing patience, discipline, focus, and emotional expression through music. I strive to create a warm, encouraging environment where students feel supported as they explore their creativity and develop their unique musical voice.
