About Anna
I have a first-class degree in English and Scottish Literature from the University of Edinburgh. I have several years of experience tutoring young people from ages 11-17 and can offer flexible hours. I have recently gone on to study a Master's degree in Political Science, so have a well-rounded background in essay writing for numerous subjects.

I am an encouraging and positive teacher who wants to get the most out of a session. First, it is important to set a learning goal that is measurable and achievable. I also believe it is important to help my students think critically and independently and once students have gained confidence, their own insights and questions should be leading the session. I will work with them to draw out responses that will become more developed as they gain confidence.

Anna is dedicated, intelligent and warm. Not only does she have wide reaching and meticulous knowledge of English Literature (and specialist interest in female Scottish writers) she is also fun and engaging, not to mention the only person to go to for a good book recommendation. Anna is a patient and conscientious teacher and you will enjoy working with her!
Anna is an awesome tutor! Reliable, clear & concise, always willing to help answer any question and very knowledgable. Her abilities to think outside of the box are hugely valuable and I would highly recommend her style of teaching.
I have known Anna for 6 years and have always been impressed by her passion and excitement for English, something that she readily imparts to students, even encouraging me (dyslexic and not the strongest reader) to engage with and enjoy more books.
