About Emily
I’m an experienced, qualified piano and music theory tutor who is passionate about helping students of all ages and abilities achieve their musical goals. I hold Grade 8 Distinction in Piano and Grade 8 in Music Theory from Trinity College London, and I’ve been playing music for over 10 years. I also taught piano for 4 years throughout my studies, gaining valuable experience working with a wide range of students. Teaching piano was not only how I supported myself through university, but also how I discovered the joy of helping others grow in confidence and skill. I believe music is for everyone, and I take pride in being a patient, adaptable teacher who celebrates every student’s achievements, both big and small!

Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a friendly (I don’t bite I promise!) piano and music theory tutor who believes that learning music should ALWAYS be: fun, confidence-boosting, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for exams, or just wanting to play for enjoyment, I adapt my teaching style to suit you. I hold Grade 8 Distinction in piano, violin and music theory from Trinity College London, and I’ve been playing music for over 10 years. I also have 4 years of teaching experience, having taught throughout my degree (which helped me pay my way through university!) And I play every week in orchestras to keep that sense of community going. Lessons are usually 30 or 60 minutes, depending on your level and preference. I work with children, teens, and adults, from complete beginners to more advanced players. Whether you’re working toward exams, learning your favourite songs, or exploring music theory, I’ll create lessons that are personalised, engaging, and suited to your pace. If you’re looking for fun, supportive, and flexible lessons… I’d love to help you on your musical journey!

I am currently studying at UCL and wanted to complete my grade 8 piano but no longer had the support from my previous sixth form. Emily very helpfully stepped up and tutored me weekly, sometimes more! She is very flexible and was willing to accommodate for my time. She is so super lovely and smiley and knows her stuff!! I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher.
Emily taught me piano a couple of years ago when I was just starting my grade 2, and I got a Distinction!! I found the grade 1 exam really stressful but we broke grade 2 down into sections and worked on each one until I felt really confident going into that exam hall!
Emily helped me soooo much leading up to my GCSEs. She helped me become so confident when playing piano which I never thought would happen. I am so incredibly grateful for how understanding and patient she was with me as my tutor and I genuinely recommend her for anyone who needs a lot or a little help with Piano.
