About Thomas
As a native of the Dominican Republic, Spanish is not only my mother tongue but also a language deeply rooted in my cultural identity. Additionally, I embarked on my own language learning journey as a student, mastering German during my teenage years when I moved to Germany. This personal experience of learning a foreign language fuels my empathy and understanding towards my students.
Teaching languages has been my passion since the young age of 18. Over the years, I have had the privilege of guiding students in broadening their horizons and embracing new cultures through my expertise in both Spanish and German. My teaching experience encompasses a wide range of settings, including companies, mentoring at the University of Hamburg's Intercultural Student Seminar, and instructing students in public schools.
As a teacher, I pride myself on being a versatile generalist capable of teaching students at any language level. My knowledge and interests span a broad spectrum, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging learning experience for my students. With a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in Latin American Studies, specializing in politics and migration, from the prestigious University of Hamburg, I bring a deep understanding of the cultural and social contexts that shape the languages I teach.
