About Katelin

Hi, I’m Katelin Bale! I’m an elementary educator with 8 years of teaching experience across multiple grade levels, and I currently teach in special education. I’m especially passionate about teaching reading and helping students build both confidence and a love for learning.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and will graduate this fall with my master’s in special education. I am also pursuing my Rank I while participating in the LETRS program, which has strengthened my ability to support students in reading by helping me address learning gaps with evidence-based strategies.
I believe in getting to know each student as an individual so I can tailor lessons to their unique needs, interests, and learning styles. I provide support in reading, math, writing, and social skills for students in grades K–5, always aiming to create an engaging and supportive environment where students can succeed.
Outside of teaching, I’m a mom to a wonderful daughter, with a son on the way! We also have a goldendoodle who keeps our family busy!
I’ve always wanted to tutor and am so excited to finally have the opportunity to work with amazing kids and support them on their learning journey!

About the lesson

I prioritize building relationships with my students so I can tailor instruction to their individual needs and interests. By learning what engages each student, I’m able to design lessons that are both meaningful and motivating.
In reading instruction, I begin by assessing each student’s current academic level. Based on their needs, I provide targeted support in areas such as sight word recognition, reading fluency, and comprehension. I select materials and questions that are developmentally appropriate to ensure steady progress and confidence building.
I have experience supporting students in grades K–5 across multiple subjects, including math, reading, writing, and social skills. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where each student feels understood and challenged at the right level.
