I am a patient and caring teacher. I use manipulatives as well as songs to help students understand concepts. A typical math lesson includes spiral review and an introduction to the topic. A lesson multiplying decimals would include a review of place value. Then I would work a problem explaining the steps. I would work a problem with the student while giving positive feedback. I would then have the student work a problem alone to check for understanding.
