About Alexandra
Hi, I’m Alexandra! I am currently an Elementary Education major specializing in grades Pre-K through 3rd and have hands-on experience working with children in tutoring, aftercare programs, and as a substitute teacher. I am passionate about helping young learners build confidence and succeed in English and Math. I provide patient, engaging, and personalized lessons designed to meet each student’s individual needs. My goal is to create a supportive environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new concepts, and developing strong foundational skills that will help them in school and beyond.

My approach as a tutor is patient, supportive, and tailored to each student’s unique needs. I focus on helping 1st–3rd graders strengthen their foundational skills in English and Math by breaking down concepts into clear, manageable steps. I use a combination of guided practice, problem-solving exercises, and interactive explanations to make learning engaging and effective.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in to see what the student is working on and where they might be struggling. We then review specific homework or practice problems together, with me modeling strategies and encouraging the student to try examples independently. I also provide tips and tricks to help them understand concepts more deeply and apply them in future assignments.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my background as an Elementary Education major, combined with hands-on experience working with children in tutoring, aftercare programs, and as a substitute teacher. I am dedicated to creating a positive, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions, exploring new concepts, and achieving success in English and Math.
