About Hamish
Throughout my time at school I've always had an interest in electronics, computers and mathematics, and problem solving in general. My logical next step was to put this passion into practice, leading me to study an undergraduate MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Sheffield, where I am currently in my first year of study. After tutoring my own sister through her maths and science GCSEs, I realised I could help others with this! I also love music: I play the drums, and like to listen to indie & rock music, and I enjoy hiking, camping and climbing.

Everyone learns best in different ways: for me, I spent most of my study time doing practice questions, while others may find being walked through each stage of working more helpful, or otherwise. I can improvise to each student, and try and find which method they best learn with, while also seeking feedback from the student to see what's working and what they might prefer. I aim to give students confidence so they can complete exam questions by themselves. I can tutor Years 7 - 11 Maths, Physics and Computer Science, and have informal experience of tutoring my peers and family members during their own studies.
