About Steven
My name is Steven, and I am an aspiring Electrical Engineering student with a strong passion for Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I have consistently worked to improve my own academic performance, particularly in Mathematics, where I was recognized for one of the most improved results in my grade. This experience allows me to understand both the challenges students face and the strategies needed to overcome them.
I take pride in being reliable, patient, and well-prepared for every lesson. I approach tutoring with professionalism and a genuine commitment to helping each student improve, not only in their marks but also in their confidence and understanding of the subject.
While I am at the beginning of my formal tutoring journey, I bring strong subject knowledge, clear communication skills, and a teaching approach that focuses on simplifying complex ideas. I believe that with the right explanation and guidance, every student is capable of improving.
Students can expect a supportive and focused learning environment where questions are encouraged and progress is taken seriously. My goal is to help each learner build a solid foundation, develop problem-solving skills, and achieve better results in their tests and exams.

My approach to tutoring is focused on understanding first, then performance. I don’t just show students how to get the answer, I break concepts down into simple, logical steps so they actually understand what they’re doing and can apply it in exams with confidence.
What makes me unique is that I teach from a student’s perspective. I’ve personally worked through challenges in subjects like Mathematics and Physical Sciences, so I know exactly where learners get stuck and how to explain those difficult concepts in a way that finally “clicks”.
I am able to teach in English clearly and effectively, and I can also assist students who are more comfortable with basic Afrikaans explanations where needed.
A typical lesson with me includes:

I keep my lessons interactive and patient, encouraging students to ask questions and think for themselves instead of just memorising.
