About Joe
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic electric guitar tutor with over ten years of playing experience and a genuine passion for helping students grow as confident musicians. I currently play in a rock band and bring real-world performance experience into my teaching, helping students see how technique, theory, and creativity come together in practice.
In my early days of playing guitar, I was heavily inspired by Matt Bellamy from Muse, which sparked my interest in expressive playing, effects, and strong rhythmic control. Over time, my musical taste and ability have evolved well beyond this, and I now draw from a wide range of styles and genres, including rock, alternative, blues, and even elements of classical guitar. This broad background allows me to adapt lessons to suit different musical interests and learning goals.
I hold Grade 8 Electric Guitar with Distinction, Grade 5 Music Theory, and achieved a Distinction in Music BTEC during sixth form. I am particularly experienced with Trinity College London electric guitar exams, having completed them myself, and I am also familiar with Rockschool exams from my earlier grades.
My teaching style is professional, patient, and supportive. I tailor lessons to each student, whether they prefer structured progression, exam preparation, or a more creative, song-based approach, always aiming to build confidence and long-term enjoyment of music.

I am a passionate electric guitar tutor with over ten years of playing experience and I currently play in a rock band. Music has always been a huge part of my life, and I enjoy helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a strong personal sound on the guitar.
My lessons are supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. I adapt lessons for students who prefer a clear, structured approach as well as those who enjoy a more creative, song-based focus. Each lesson includes technique, practical music theory, and musical application, with clear practice goals to support steady progress.
I hold Grade 8 Electric Guitar (Distinction), Grade 5 Music Theory, and a Distinction in Music BTEC from sixth form. I am highly experienced with Trinity College London electric guitar exams, having taken them myself, and I am also familiar with Rockschool exams from my earlier grades. I can help students prepare exam pieces, technical work, stylistic accuracy, and performance confidence.
While I am new to formal tutoring, I have regularly helped friends and fellow musicians improve their playing, technique, and understanding of music. I am enthusiastic, patient, and committed to helping students enjoy learning and reach their full potential on the guitar.

Details
My rates start at £36/h, however most students opt for £18 30 minute lessons.
Batches of 5 lessons are £170 as an upfront payment. Batches of 10 lessons are £320. These prices are for 1 hour lessons and are halved if the student prefers 30 minute lessons.
