About Amy
I am a student at the University of Manchester studying music. I’ve played bass since I was 12, initially playing mostly rock and funk before eventually finding my way into jazz. I have experience playing in big bands and smaller jazz ensembles and have achieved grade 8 (rockschool) on bass.

I am a patient and methodical teacher, working with a slow and steady approach to ensure that good habits are encouraged from the start. I strongly believe that enjoyment is the most important factor when learning an instrument, particularly at entry level, so classes can be tailor made to the individual depending on their goals and needs.
Open to teaching all ages at a beginner/intermediate/advanced level. Typical lesson would be 30-45 minutes.
My main study is bass guitar but I can also offer teaching in music theory and piano. I would encourage students to take ABRSM or Rockschool exams but I don’t think they’re essential so it’s entirely up to the student and what they want to get out of my tuition.
