About Courtney
I have been working in Educational Resource at an Elementary School for the past 3 years. I work with 2nd-6th grade. I understand that every student learns differently. I think it's very important to teach my students in the way that they learn the best. I know that school can be challenging but you can accomplish anything with the proper tools and hard work. As a tutor I work to understand each student and how they learn. I am able to tailor the lesson to help my students best understand and meet their needs.
A typical lesson plan would consist of:
1. Teaching the topic
2. Practicing the topic together
3. Mastery Check Assessment-5 problems or questions to make sure the topic is understood
4. If the tutoring sessions are consistent after the 4th tutoring session, there will be a comprehension assessment to see if the information was retained and to see what needs more review.
I am very understanding, compassionate and patient. I am very passionate about helping students gain confidence in their education. It is very special and a privilege to be in education.
My lessons are for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. The main subjects are math, reading/comprehension and language arts.
