About Rory
My fascination with economics began with curiosity about human behaviour, markets, and decision-making processes. Over eight years of teaching, I have combined research, practical examples, and pedagogy to make economics engaging, relevant, and comprehensible. Watching students develop analytical skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of economic principles is deeply rewarding and reinforces the connection between academic achievement and personal growth. I teach with patience, empathy, and adaptability, tailoring lessons to each student’s learning style. I emphasise critical thinking, discussion, and application to ensure learners connect theoretical knowledge with practical insights. Lessons incorporate case studies, interactive exercises, and real-world examples, nurturing independent, confident thinkers capable of evaluating complex economic situations. Outside the classroom, I follow market trends, policy developments, and economic research to enrich my teaching. Economics is not just a subject—it is a lens through which we understand the world. Helping students develop analytical insight, strategic reasoning, and confidence in decision-making is my greatest professional and personal fulfilment.

Economics is the study of how resources are allocated, how decisions are made, and how markets function. In my lessons, I focus on connecting theoretical concepts to real-world applications, making economics accessible, relevant, and intellectually stimulating. I cultivate a supportive environment where discussion, curiosity, and critical thinking are encouraged. Lessons blend theory, case studies, and data analysis to ensure students develop both conceptual understanding and practical insight. By exploring current events, historical trends, and market behaviours, learners gain the ability to interpret economic phenomena and think strategically about problems. Beginners focus on basic concepts such as supply and demand, opportunity cost, and the fundamentals of market structures. Intermediate learners delve into microeconomics, macroeconomics, consumer behaviour, and applied economic analysis. Advanced students tackle econometrics, policy evaluation, strategic decision-making, and comprehensive economic modelling. Lessons incorporate exercises, assignments, and exam preparation, providing students with a strong foundation while developing analytical and reasoning skills applicable in academic and professional contexts. Economics equips students with critical reasoning, problem-solving ability, and strategic thinking. Learners gain confidence in interpreting data, evaluating decisions, and applying theoretical insights to real-world scenarios. My goal is for students to develop both mastery of economic concepts and the ability to approach complex issues thoughtfully, analytically, and creatively.
