About Tom
Hi! My name is Tom and I’m currently in my second year of my integrated master’s degree in Aerospace engineering. In my degree and throughout school I’ve focused on subjects like maths and physics which are vital tools in a career such as engineering. Throughout school, I enjoyed teaching others the concepts we learnt about in class which led to me starting a maths tutoring club! Here I found it rewarding as I taught students at different levels and gave me a new perspective on the subjects I was learning and now teaching. If you are interested in deepening your understanding in maths, physics and engineering, I would love to help!

To provide a more effective tutoring experience, I like to hear what the student feels they are lacking from existing teachers or tutors in order for me to help fill these gaps in their learning. I am very thorough in explanations of complicated topics such as trigonometry and calculus which are often topics students struggle to understand at first. Rather than reciting a textbook as some teachers like to do, I prefer to work with students on problems and explain the reasoning behind solutions (in example questions for maths and physics especially).
