About Rory
With 12 years of experience as a French tutor, I have guided around 150–200 students in developing their language skills and achieving their goals. I believe in personalised learning and tailor each lesson to meet the unique needs and learning styles of my students.
My teaching combines clear grammar instruction with interactive speaking practice, helping learners build both accuracy and fluency. I incorporate real-life scenarios, structured exercises, and engaging activities to make lessons effective and enjoyable.
Known for my patience and clarity, I strive to create a positive and motivating environment where students feel encouraged to participate and grow. My aim is to make French learning accessible, practical, and rewarding.

My teaching approach to French is centred on flexibility, empathy, compassion, communication, and collaboration, allowing me to shape each lesson around the individual learner rather than a fixed structure.
I take time to understand each student’s goals, whether they aim to improve conversational skills, academic performance, or overall confidence in the language. By leading with empathy and compassion, I create a relaxed and encouraging space where students feel comfortable experimenting with French and learning from mistakes.
Communication is woven into every session through guided conversations, listening exercises, and real-life applications. I also incorporate collaborative activities such as role-plays and situational practice to make lessons interactive and meaningful.
Alongside French, I integrate grammar, vocabulary, and cultural context to help students build a deeper, more practical understanding of the language.
