About Shreya
I am a Malaysian girl who truly wants to give back! I received a lot of guidance during my application process from my fellow Malaysians, and will forever be grateful! Teaching is extremely fulfilling to me and I really enjoy helping my students work towards their goals, I know exactly what helped me during my application process and exactly what would have helped me more. I believe I have a varied legal experience which I hope to share. I applied to varied Universities, did the Cambridge law test, got through the interview, completed the LNAT and have been supporting students with their university applications for years. Because I've worked in Malaysia (in boutique and international law firms), done a mini pupillage, worked in international, UK regional, and US firms in the UK and now have a training contract at a Magic Circle law firm, I will be able to share my knowledge and insights on various application questions and ultimately, so that my students will be able to make informed choices.

Hi, I'm Shreya! I've had over 5 years of tutoring experience helping with university admissions through helping with personal statements, Introduction to Law sessions, mock interviews, university choices etc... I am also a Future Trainee Solicitor at a Magic Circle law firm and have been mentoring students with their training contract applications - from giving guidance on firm choices, tailoring my advice to international students, psychometric tests, reviewing applications (by giving in-depth line-by-line feedback, with suggestions on how to improve), CV and Cover letter reviews, mock interviews and giving motivation and moral support throughout this grueling process. My teaching style is very tailored to my student's needs, I like to have friendly and open lines of communication with my students so that I can fully understand how best to help them. I usually give 1-hour sessions, but happy to adjust to my student's needs. I've found it helpful to be very specific, detailed, and actionable advice and will always offer resources and tips on working smarter! Basically, I don't do vague and generalised advice! I am very candid about my own experience, so I like to talk about other issues faced during the application process e.g. cultural differences, confidence, self-esteem and how to face them. As mentioned above, when reviewing applications or personal statements, I ensure to give line-by-line advice and will ensure to give detailed comments and suggestions, even on issues such as word count. I have also worked as a paralegal for 2 years at DLA Piper, completed vacation schemes and internships at a range of law firms including Cleary Gottlieb, Travers Smith, Trowers & Hamlin and Christopher & Lee Ong (Kuala Lumpur). I will be able to give solid insight and advice on what a career in commercial law is like, and what skills are required of a trainee solicitor from different perspectives.
