About Alex
I am an undergraduate Bioengineering student at Durham University, one of the top universities in the UK for this field.
I recently achieved A*AA in A-level Mathematics, Physics and Biology, so I have a strong understanding of both the content and the current exam structure. Having completed these courses myself, I know what examiners are looking for and the most effective revision techniques.
At GCSE, I achieved Grade 8s in Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry. I was originally predicted grades 4–5, but through developing effective revision strategies, I was able to significantly improve my results. This experience means I can really relate to students who may be struggling and help them make the same kind of progress.
I’m a friendly and approachable tutor, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.

My approach to tutoring is to create a relaxed and supportive environment, as I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable and confident asking questions. I aim to reduce any barriers to learning so that students can stay motivated and make consistent progress over time.
Early on, I identify each student’s strengths and areas for improvement so I can build a structured plan tailored to them. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit the student—whether that’s working through examples together, focusing on exam practice, or breaking down more challenging concepts step by step.
Lessons typically last between 60 and 120 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. I offer tutoring for A-level Mathematics, AQA Physics, and AQA Biology, as well as GCSE Mathematics (Higher and Foundation), Edexcel Physics, and Biology.
