About Charles
I am a graduate from Durham University in Mathematics and Physics. I am taking a year out, but plan to pursue a PhD, which will involve teaching responsibilities. Ultimately, I would love to teach and do research.
I was lucky enough to get A*A*A* in my Maths, Further Maths, and Physics A-levels and 10 grade 9's in my GCSEs. I have a year's experience tutoring online and would love to help some A-level and GCSE students towards their goals (and impart some enthusiasm for the subjects as a by-product).

Mathematics and physics are beautiful subjects, but they are also difficult. Building confidence in mathematics and physics is about identifying problematic topics and then tracing the misunderstanding back to its origin.
It is helpful if students have some idea of the topics they are finding confusing. If this isn't possible, I like to give them some diagnostic questions and tailor lesson plans from there.
I have found students are most successful when they are able to have control over what we spend time on and when tutoring becomes an enjoyable and helpful appointment in their week.
